Babushkas
Claire and fellow artist Kirsti Davies were responsible for this large scale art project at Accrington Academy.
They worked intensively with a group of talented pupils from the school for two weeks. The children were involved in the whole process:- planning, building, designing and decorating.
There are six Babushkas, all 2 metres tall and 1.5 metres wide sculptures. Three of them also have functions - one is a lantern, one incorporates a postbox for student comments to teachers and one has an interactive chalk blackboard.
