Tata Jagriti Yatra

Tata Jagriti Yatra 2009 commenced on 24 December, 2009 and comprised an 18 day train journey around India aimed at awakening the entrepeneural spirit in its 400 young participants. The journey covered 9300 kms, visiting role models who are developing unique solutions to India's problems.
Claire was an artist in residence on the journey, taking Visual Minutes of the role model visits and the CNBC Panel discussions. She also ran creative workshops on the train.



Go Penguins

Claire designed and painted penguins for Liverpool's Go Penguins event which launched 20th November 2009. To view Claire's penguins click here.

Claire works with Creative Connection who have, since June 2008, been Artists in Residence at the Southbank Centre. This residency is using and developing Visual Minutes; a live, artistic representation of meetings, events, conferences and debates.

Claire has also been commissioned to paint text work and signage around the site. Examples are shown below.

Lake District Summer Music Festival , August 2006
music festival Claire was artist in residence at the Festival, continuing and developing work related to music. She was observing and drawing both rehearsals and performances and her work was on public exhibition during the Festival.


Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh, May 2000
holyrood Claire was an artist in residence during an eight day period whilst Prince Charles was staying at the Palace, representing the Queen at the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. Claire attended and recorded a variety of official functions.


BBC Documentary 'Rolf on Art'January 2007.
Claire was selected to participate in an art event in Manchester as part of the BBC Rolf Harris documentary on L.S. Lowry. The brief was to create a 21st century vision of the 1954 Lowry painting 'Picadilly Gardens' The artists were given 5 hours to create their work, which wasw shown on the documentary..

The painting can be viewed at the 'RICE' Restaurant in Piccadilly Gardens which enjoys the view shown in the painting

Work Online

Claire is very pleased to be continuing her association with The Sound Post, distributors of bowed instruments and accessories. They selected Claire's painting 'Blue Rest' for the cover of their 2009 catalogue and their new catalogue (to be issued in Spring 2010) will features Claire's painting 'Mesmerising'. There is also an online link on their website which displays some more of her work.

Claire profiles online on Axis, "the leading guide to artists practising in the UK today."

Claire's work features under 'Artist Profiles' in Issue 6 of 'nerve' magazine which promotes grass roots artists and culture on Merseyside. To view online go to www.catalystmedia.org.uk
